ThomasNATION Reviews - Lost and Found

Of all the episodes of All Engines Go!, this along with Kana Goes Slow was the one I was the most intrigued about. From the title, it sounded like an episode exploring the idea of the lost property you'd find on public transport. Yeah, we already had an episode like that with...well, 'Lost Property', but since this show presents Thomas and his comrades as playful kids, they could have them learn about the responsibility of returning the property after someone loses it. There's a lot of potential here, but is it fully realised? Let's begin.
Nia's sent on a path to Norramby Beach, so she and Thomas decide to take a shortcut, but they end up lost along the way...and that's pretty much it. It's just an excuse to see Thomas and Nia vibing for eight minutes. But I wouldn't call that a bad thing.
Is this episode a retread of 'Lost Property' like I anticipated? No, actually. Instead, it's more of a retread of 'Gordon Takes a Shortcut'. It follows the same plot beats as the Season 12 episode, with the lead character taking a shortcut and being resilient that he knows the way to go, only ending up more and more lost. To be fair to Lost and Found however, it tells this story way better than the original. One thing that's really intriguing here is that there's only two characters throughout the whole episode, those being just Thomas and Nia, and while I do wish there were a few more characters they could interact with to guide them on their way, it's still pretty fun to see them play off of each other, even if there's a couple of moments where they sing a pretty annoying song.
Yeah, there's not a lot to say about this one, it's just a fun little episode. While it's got a couple of minor problems, like the plot not being what I expected and a pretty annoying song, it's singlehandedly carried by Thomas and Nia's camaraderie, so if you're a fan of these two, then this'll be a good watch. For anyone else, will this change your mind on All Engines Go? That's honestly a bit of a maybe, since there are some elements that'll turn you off from it, but still a good quantity of fun to be had. But overall, I'm gonna give this a 4/5.
