ThomasNATION Reviews - Snowplow Struttin'
November 30, 2024Anyone who's ever known Thomas knows that he is infamously known for his dislike of wearing a snowplow since he is often claiming his to be heavy and uncomfortable. On numerous occasions, he has shown he has no problems with doing anything to avoid wearing one from banging it around to leaving it in disrepair and leaving it on a siding by claiming it did not fit properly. He does always get his comeuppance for these deeds however and knows that having a snowplow is important in bad snowy weather. He tolerates wearing a plow much better in the present day, but Thomas will still groan about it if given the chance particularly when other engines make fun of him for this. So when it comes to this episode in particular which shows Thomas learning to use his snowplow responsibly for his friends and their tasks, did they have to make Thomas behave like a drug addict who has an unhealthy addiction to plowing into anything and everything that looks like snow? What's worse is that not only can this episode be turned into a drinking game with the amount of times that Thomas shouts 'ka-plow' but even after Percy and Diesel reprimand Thomas for not using his plow responsibly, they just end up condoning his plow-obsessed behavior anyway only after they see how useful his plow is when they're running late with their delivery.
Also, to repeat myself from my review of 'Whiteout', Thomas seemed to have no trouble when using his snowplow in that episode compared to this episode which has him learning to use his snowplow responsibly which leads me to believe this episode was meant to premiere before 'Whiteout' because the production and release order for this season has been incredibly wonky so far.
So yeah, between Thomas' almost drug-obsessed behavior with plowing snow which leaves the moral to end up being muddled and the inconsistency in the order that these stories are being released in, 'Snowplow Struttin'' despite having a few bits of fun here and there was nothing more than 'silly soft stuff' as the original and true Thomas The Tank Engine that we all know and love would say and that is why I have to give this episode a rating of a 2.5/5.
