ThomasNATION Reviews - Details? What Details?

August 22, 2026

Thomas can be described as being a cheeky engine who is often getting into scrapes usually by being over-eager to do things best left to bigger and more sensible engines. But clouds never last long in Thomas' life and he is soon bustling about again, playing his part in the yard and on his very own branch line of which he is extremely proud. He loves teasing the others, especially the bigger engines such as Gordon and on occasion brags about his superiority, but is always brought down to earth in due course by anyone willing to correct him especially Sir Topham Hatt and his two coaches Annie and Clarabel. A friend to all engines and a popular member of Sir Topham Hatt's railway, Thomas is Number One and does his best every day to live up to that through helping his friends and those that he cares about. He lives to be a Really Useful Engine and encourages everyone else to do the same. Because of his popularity amongst his fellow engines and the people of the railway, Thomas often likes to view himself as a leader to the other engines. He is quick to take action when necessary and despite the dangers or fears he might experience has a strong sense of bravery and will never leave any of his friends behind even despite any previous conflicts. Because of this, the other engines often follow in his tracks. However, he can feel jealous or threatened if he feels a newer tank engine is trying to replace him. But in the end, Thomas is always willing to make amends with those whom he previously distrusted proving his leadership and making many new friends.

But speaking of our number one engine in regards to today's episode of All Engines Go, it should be worth noting that this is sadly the final episode to have Meesha Contreras voicing for Thomas The Tank Engine himself in the US dub of the reboot due to him going through puberty having already starting the process during Season 1b, and it was getting to a point where constantly having to pitch up Meesha's slowly deepening voice during up until this point in the series before a new child actor could be found to fill his shoes was starting to become more and more obvious.  So as the very episode that also acts as a passing of the torch between child actors to the next generation of Thomas The Tank Engine fans, was it a fond farewell to the Meesha Era of All Engines Go?

Well, while the plotline of Thomas learning to use his wits and his listening skills along with the help of his friends in order to give Kenji the specific directions that he needs in order to take his passengers on the full island loop of Sodor was not only engaging but relatable for anyone who obsesses over having all the important details while on the job even if it's something that we have seen before in the original series, to think that all of this could've been avoided had Sir Topham Hatt actually taken a moment to stop as well as breathe and think about what he says or does before he acts.  You know, I can understand if the day found him with too much to do as controller but...between risking Emily's life for a thrilling ride down Cannonball Curve, clumsily knocking over the lamp posts at Vicarstown and now not making sure he has all the important details to give to his engines, I'm questioning more and more how Sir Topham Hatt is even still the controller of the North Western Railway.

But overall, even with its shortcomings, "Details? What Details?" was an alright way to say goodbye to the Meesha Era of All Engines Go and thus deserves a rating of a 3.5/5.  Thanks for everything, Meesha. All engines go for your future!

Final Rating: 3.5/5
